Nots – “T.V. O.D.” (The Normal cover)

Nots continue on their path of destruction, covering the underground minimalist dance classic “T.V. O.D.” by The Normal a.k.a. Daniel Miller, founder of UK synth-pop label Mute Records. There is no better choice of a song to cover for the dystopian science-fiction influenced Nots. In fact, “T.V. O.D.” is based on J.G. Ballard’s novel “Crash”. Previously, Nots also based a song on a science-fiction novel, Philip K. Dick’s “The World Jones Made”. More nightmare music for the dysfunctional dystopian reality we seem to be trapped in. We’ve been waiting a long time for Nots to cover a classic song. Great choice!R-2266-1402229348-1166.jpegTo be precise, it is actually the b-side to that single that is influenced by “Crash”. However, it is “T.V. O.D.” that really brings out the kind of decaying sci-fi world portrayed on “We Are Nots” (2014).
